German Model 189805 Butcher Blade Bayonet Sawback

This is a wwi german m98/05 sawback bayonet maker marked. (weyersberg kirshbaum & cie) the sipne has a crowned w over '16 that dates production in 1916. Also there are two cipher marks on pommel. On the tip fo the scabbard there is another one.

The pioneer troops were the only recipients of the sawback bayonet. Over all this is a nice sturdy bayonet. It is ont over all mint. But it is a honest un-fooled with wwi bayonet.

The catch works flawlessly. The blade is in excellent condition, with an original arsenal bright steel finish it has been slightly sharpened, with no nicks in the blade. Saw teeth are sharp and in excelelnt condition. The guard, and pommel have a nice even grayish/brown patina with a few dings on the back shield of the grip from being carried.

Wood grips are in good condition with the usual dings and scratches that are found on bayonets that were used during the war. The blued scabbard has also a few dings and scuffs however, it is sturdy and complete with spring and stud intact, over all this is a nice honest wwi relic with no major problems. I try my best to describe these relics so is there no problems later. You aer not getting a mint bayonet.
Whta you are getting is a correctly described bayonet from a long time and honest ebay seller.
